For those who have been in Bali, the
south part of the island offers so many must-see places. However, few know what
resides in the north part of Bali. The north part of Bali has abundant hidden

This is the right article if you ever
wonder what it is in North Bali. I must guarantee you won’t be short of things

part is not as famous as the southern, the infrastructure for Tourists is fairly
well-available. So, you won’t be in trouble finding a place to stay.
The first part of this article will
give you recommendations about the places you can’t miss, and the second part of
the article will give you recommendations on where to stay. So, bear with me and
find more useful tips to start your journey in the northern part of Bali.
Unmissable Places
in the North
Let us start with what is in the
north. It is to make sure you won’t regret exploring this part of the island.
The greatest thing here in the north is the fact you will find few tourists
compared to the south. That means the place is both less crowded and cleaner
than the south. It is perfect for you who are fond of peace and serenity, isn’t it?
Without further ado, let’s start our recommendation!
1. Sekumpul Waterfall
Starting with the beautiful place to
see, you might be expecting sea and sand, right? But the first thing we
recommend to you is far from the sand. It is the waterfall that steals the hearts of
many. Set in the Northern jungle region of Bali, it feels like a scene straight
out of Avatar. Many describe this waterfall as the most impressive in Bali, and
there’s no doubt that the momentous triple falls are a sight to behold. Water
cascades from an almighty 80-meters into the lagoon below, while dense green
vines cling to the cliff face – nature at its finest. When you search for
anything to do with waterfalls in Bali, Sekumpul tends to top the list every
time.
If you are feeling adventurous, you
can opt for the arduous hike down to the bottom of the falls. Or you can either
admire a birds-eye view from the viewing deck up above. We go into the pros
and cons of both options in our Sekumpul Waterfall guide; however, either way,
if you plan to chase waterfalls in North Bali, Sekumpul should be at the top of
your list.
2. Aling-aling Waterfall
There are plenty of waterfalls you can
explore in Bali. In case you're looking for a genuine experience in North Bali,
you totally can't miss Aling Waterfall. Renowned for its amazing collection of waterfalls
and thrill-seeker cliff jumping freedoms, this is one of our top-list
activities in North Bali. But, what many don't aware of is that the waterfall is
considered sacred among local people, so no swimming or jumping is permitted.
Be that as it may, there are innumerable regular pools and water slides along the
path. With such a great amount to see and do at Aling, it is not difficult to
kill a whole day here and not get bored at all.
So, if you choose to be safe rather
than sorry, it is better to pay for a guide. The guide will help you to do a lot
of adventurous stuff and outright not disturbing the sacred place. The
beautiful scenery of the arduous thick jungle and track will greet you as soon
you enter the area. The climate and scenery would be enough to thrill you and
pump your adrenaline. Aling-aling Waterfall is the perfect place for you an
adventure seeker.
3. Sunrise in Mount Batur
What is the perfect place to watch the sunrise? That’s right, the mountain makes the scenery of sunrise more amazing.
There is one thing you should do if you want to watch an unforgettable sunrise
in your whole life. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishing
something while most people are still in bed. So how about summiting a
1700-meter-high active volcano for sunrise? That’s precisely what we did during
our stay in North Bali, and it’s probably the highlight of our time there. It
may even be the highlight of all our time in Bali.
Getting out of bed at 2 am and make
your way to base camp sound less appealing, but the prices when you reach the
top is the feeling you won’t have the other way. The magical moment of
experiencing sunrise atop an active volcano was the ultimate reward. If you are
to drag yourself out of bed for only one sunrise during your time in Bali, I
strongly suggest it be this one.
4. Toya Bungkah Hot Spring
After your hard tracking atop, the mount
Batur offers hot springs, which you can enjoy. Toya Bungkah Hot Spring is set at the
bottom of the Batur Mountain. If you’re a big fan of hot springs, it’s worth a
quick visit! Sat right in the shadow of the Mt. Batur volcano, I think we can
say with absolute certainty that these hot springs are naturally heated and one
of the most beautiful places in North Bali to take a dip.
There are 7 pools, but the one you’re
going to want to spend all your time in is the one with the views of the actual
lake. The lake scenery, while you sit in the hot pool, will give you a relaxing
feeling. After all the hardworking, it is time to chill out spending your
precious time.
5. Banjar Hot Spring
If you want to occasionally spend the
time at hot spring just to enjoy the relaxing feeling given by the warmth of
the water, Banjar Hot Spring is the perfect place. Banjar Hot Spring, locally
referred to as Air Panas Banjar, is where you can go for a soothing time while
in Lovina. It’s approximately 5 km southwest of Lovina Beach and shares the
same locality as the landmark Brahmavihara Arama Buddhist monastery. It
provides a therapeutic experience, due to the water’s sulphuric content. This
can be seen from the yellowish-red sediment on the spouts and pool walls.
The hot spring complex has 4 main pool
sections with a central bathing pool that features a restaurant perched high
above its northern side. Beside the restaurant are restrooms, lockers and changing
rooms, and a spa and massage facility. A row of souvenir shops lines the route
to the hot springs, selling all sorts of souvenir items
6. Dolphin Spotting
It is time to visit the sea and sand in
north Bali. If you told your friend who has been in Bali that they can spot
dolphins at the north, they may be a bit surprised. Yes! Few tourists realize
that dolphin spotting is a thing in the north. The majestic and beautiful sea
creatures are often seen in the north beach part of Bali. Here in northern
Bali, at Lovina Beach, traditional fishing boats head off in search of dolphins
every day before sunrise. If you want to snapshot this remarkable view when
the dolphins jump out of the water, this is the perfect opportunity.
However, it is important to remind
you that Dolphins are one of the endangered animals that we should take care of. One
of the things you can save the amazing creature is not to disturb their habitat
by not littering the beach and the sea. This would be very helpful for them if
you can maintain the habitat for them.
7. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving
When you visit a tropical island, it
is not quite complete if you don’t dip yourself to the bottom of the sea. Some
of the best snorkeling and scuba diving sites are in North Bali, boasting
abundant marine life and flourishing coral reef. The best dive sites are
Menjangan Island is famous for its drop-off and coral garden, and
Tulamben, which is popular for wreck diving.
Set in Menjangan National Park, North
West of Bali this area is rarely visited by tourists. We were hoping to get
there on our last trip to Bali, but before we knew it, our 2-months were over.
A diving day trip to Menjangan Island is quite a popular activity from the
North of Bali, so you could do that or look into staying in the National Park
for a night or 2.
Those are a few places you can go through
and experience yourself. While there are a lot of places you can go but
definitely the list, we recommend you above will not make you disappointed,
unless you choose not to visit them! So how about the place to stay? Well, we
have one recommendation for you.
