Updates of travel regulations to BaliThere is a lot of fuss about the implementation of PPKM during New Year events in Indonesia. Although the fuss has been denied by the Government of Indonesia, there are still many concerns about traveling to Indonesia, especially to Bali.

PPKM is the abbreviation of Pembatasan Pergerakan Kegiatan Masyarakat or roughly translated to restrictions on the movement of community activities. The regulations consist mainly on restrictions to travel and health protocols to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

A vaccination Card is a must

Before you travel to Indonesia, you should make sure that you have been vaccinated at least the first dose. You should also prove that you’ve been vaccinated by showing a card of the related issue. So, you should prepare a certificate, card, or another form of proof to show that you are eligible to visit Indonesia.

The policy is stated in the Circular Sending Message (surat edaran) of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force No.24 of 2021 concerning the Regulation of Community Activities and Mobility. 

Long-distance travel by air transportation mode from and to areas in the Java-Bali region as well as inter-district or inter-city travel within the Java-Bali area must show a vaccine card at least the first dose and a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results.

The PCR Negative Test applies only for 3 days

There are some controversies regarding the eligibility of PCR, but you shouldn’t get involved in the said issue. You might need to prepare a PCR Test to prove you are negative from the virus. Information on the negative results of the RT-PCR test, the sample is taken within a maximum period of 3x24 hours before departure. 

Meanwhile, people who have received the complete vaccine are also required to show a certificate of negative rapid test antigen results whose samples are taken within a maximum period of 1x24 hours before departure.
